Why
I kept a countdown on a sticky note and updated it by hand every morning. It did more for my attention than any app. I wanted the same number on the screen I look at most, an empty browser tab, without anything else competing for it.
How it works
Up to five countdowns, one per line, in a seven-segment font with the unlit segments still faintly visible. Click any part of a row to edit it. Days, hours and minutes flip like a departure board; seconds just tick. On the day, the number reads todAy in red.
Progress
First commit. A white page and one number.
Seven-segment digits, with the unlit segments showing.
The Ledger layout: numbers right-aligned, five rows at most.
Shared it with twenty friends. Wrote Counting Down.
Split-flap motion, settings and dark mode.
Submitted to the Chrome Web Store. In review.
What's next
The Chrome Web Store review, then ninety days of watching whether people still look at the number. I'll write that up either way.
